EIZO ColorEdge CG2700S and CG2700X

EIZO presents two new 27-inch monitors for the creative professional

New ColorEdge generation: With the CG2700S and the CG2700X, EIZO presents two new high-end monitors of the CG series in 27". In addition to a new housing design, the new monitors, which guarantee sharp image display with WQHD or UHD resolution, offer an integrated LAN connection via USB-C for the first time and power delivery of up to 92 or 94 watts.

The two new ColorEdge monitors differ primarily in resolution. The panel of the CG2700S has the popular WQHD resolution with 2560 x 1440 pixels, whereas the panel of the CG2700X offersa 4K UHD resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. Both monitors guarantee a very sharp image impression (109 ppi or even 164 ppi) and enable a perfect view of the imaged file. No matter whether it is high-resolution photo and film material, CGI, or game design. They also set standards in terms of connectivity. Thanks to the integrated USB-C connection, both the image signal and data can be transferred with just one cable. In addition, the powerful power delivery function can also effectively supply power to power-hungry high-performance notebooks with 92 or 94 watts (CG2700X) without an additional power supply unit. Another new feature is the integrated LAN connection, which guarantees a stable connection to the Internet and connected network resources. In this way, the new monitors become the hub of a modern, mobile workplace with a single flick of the wrist.

In both models, a wide-gamut IPS panel with 10-bit colour depth and 16-bit LUT (Look-Up-Table) ensures saturated colours and smooth colour transitions. The other key data are also spectacular: the colour space coverage is from 99% Adobe-RGB and 98% DCI-P3, the maximum brightness is 500 cd/m² (CG2700X) and 400 cd/m² (CG2700s). Thanks to True Black technology, the displays enable high contrasts of 1450:1 (CG2700X) and 1600:1 (CG2700S). The EIZO-exclusive homogeneity correction Digital Uniformity Equalizer ensures precise and homogeneous brightness and colour representation across the entire display surface.

HDR

The monitors support HLG and the PQ curves for viewing and processing HDR video content. Due to the high brightness levels and the large contrast ratio, a large part of the contrast range of the HDR material to be processed can be displayed. Thus, the new models fit perfectly into a HDR production workflow that ends with a HDR reference monitor like the ColorEdge PROMINENCE CG3146.

The ColorEdge CG2700X and CG2700S are the first models in EIZO's ColorEdge PROMINENCE HDR reference monitors to feature Sync Signal. This feature automatically adjusts the monitor's settings, such as input range and input colour format, to the video signal to ensure that colour settings remain consistent throughout production.

Integrated calibration sensor and software

Both monitors are equipped with EIZO's award-winning, integrated sensor technology for hardware calibration, which, in combination with EIZO's in-house calibration software ColorNavigator 7, enables fully automated calibration. On the one hand, CN7 makes it child's play to adjust the monitors and, at the same time, the software enables the monitor to be perfectly adapted to the needs of professional users down to the last detail. Consistent image representation over the entire lifetime of the device is quickly and easily guaranteed.

Connections

The USB Type-C connectivity allows users to transfer both the video signal and data as well as power the connected device with up to 94 W (CG2700X) or 92 W (CG2700S) with just one cable. An additional power supply for MacBook Pro, tablet or other high-end notebooks is therefore no longer necessary in many cases. In addition, the monitors are equipped with a LAN port that enables a stable network connection. This means even mobile devices, which now usually no longer have an RJ45 LAN connection, can be connected to the wired network without additional adapters. Of course, the new monitors also have HDMI and a display port as well as a USB upstream connection, via which the built-in USB hub can also be used.

Housing

A large part of the newly designed rear of the ColorEdge CG2700X and CG2700S is made of perforated metal, which significantly improves air circulation. This has made it possible to dispense with a fan despite the powerful power-delivery function.

Both monitors are also supplied with a newly developed light and particularly filigree light protection cover, which is simply magnetically attached to the monitor.
